YEAH! Spring Break is here! This is the day I've been counting down to for SUCH a long time. I need a break from school, and I know my students need a break from me! :)
Papa D flies in today... hip hip hooray! I'm leaving right after school to pick him up. We are taking him to the East Bernard FISH FRY tonight. (every Friday during Lent... we look forward to it each year!) Then, Papa D, Palmer, Harrison, and I are driving home to Lubbock on Saturday morning! I am so excited I can barely stand it. I haven't even started packing yet... like a true Biggers! I think it is supposed to be cold in Lubbock this weekend... need to check accuweather.com.
Here's something crazy for ya... We bought the boys a dual-screen DVD player for the car. I know, I know, they are not even 7 months old. We are looking at it as an investment for our future sanity. :) Right now, Baby Beethoven is one of the ways we can keep them entertained... so I thought it would be helpful on the NINE hour car ride to and from Lubbock. It also happened to be on sale. We can use it for years to come, and this way each boy has his own screen. They are even able to do different things on those screens... one can play a video game while the other watches a movie! WOW! The best part (for the future) is that they have headphones! So even though I may have to listen to Baby Beethoven in the car almost all the way home, I can look forward to someday of peaceful car riding again. :)
My third period class is almost over. Three more to go... all freshmen. We are watching a video on FIRE... since we are studying thermodynamics (HEAT... for all you non-science geeks!) and all my freshmen boys are pyromaniacs. A fun way to finish the week. I made my chemistry students take a test, though. ICK! They have been looking at me with disgust all day.
My newest indulgence these days are Dove dark chocolates. YUM! I also love that the wrappers have quotes on the inside that are really fun. The one I just opened says "There's a time for compromise... it's called later."
I can't wait to see everyone...
